Marine Stories“I’m driven by the challenge”
Thilo is a great example of how to grow beyond your limits at TKMS. At 18, he began his apprenticeship at the shipyard and went on to complete two industrial qualifications – in metalworking and mechatronics. This was quickly followed by a practice-oriented degree in mechanical engineering and the next career step as an operations engineer. His recipe for success? Cleverly combining practical experience with academic studies.
Marine Stories“Diversity over tradition”
For Lea, career success should never depend on gender. She started out as a construction mechanic in a male-dominated industry. At TKMS, she completed a dual study program and now drives engineering projects forward as an engineer. Time and again, she observes that diverse teams reach solutions faster.

Marine Stories“People make the difference”
For Malte, leadership means recognizing and nurturing the unique strengths of each team member. At TKMS ATLAS ELEKTRONIK, he leads sonar production in Bremen. For him, it’s not just about the end product, it’s about how you get there: with innovative ideas, team spirit, and a clear focus on the future.
